De catalogus van de eerste Papier Biënnale in 1996.
Deze catalogus bestaat uit twee delen. Het eerste deel bevat informatie met diverse artikelen van papierdeskundigen van de Royal Library and the School for Restoration. Het tweede deel bevat de catalogus van de exposerende kunstenaars met van ieder een origineel papiermonster van hun werk ingevoegd.
De oplage was slechts 1500 stuks en binnen twee maanden uitverkocht. Er komt zelden een exemplaar op de markt. Dit exemplaar is nieuw en komt van de uitgever.

A beautiful book, with a Japanese binding, was the first in the series of the Holland Paper Biennial Books.
Pat and Peter Gentenaar edited it. The designer was Loes Schepens. The publisher was Ben Platenburg/Van Rossum.
The content is divided in two parts: a collection of stories by different paper experts from the Royal Library and the School for Restoration; and the catalog of artists who took part in the first Holland Paper Biennial. They write about their work and show a real sample of the paper material they use in their artwork.
Thanks to the enormous success of the first biennial, the book sold out in two months.
